Poetry
When I was younger I used to write alot of poetry, though I never claimed I was really good at it. I had a pretty hard childhood, which gave me alot to write about, especially my teenage years. (I'm not talking cliche' teenage years either) Once I moved into my in-laws house before they were even my in-laws, my inspiration went dry. I've tried to write so many times and I draw a blank. Granted I could never wrote about pink fluffly bunnies and running through fields singing tra la laa. But I just couldn't feel anything when it came to paper. Tonight I found myself wanting to write. It's been a long time since I have. There's nothing else to do with it but share, so I thought I'd put it on here.

In this stillness I feel it breaking
A thousand earthquakes in a bottle of sand
Eyes stare forward at nothing ahead
Are the lights even on?
A hum from the kitchen breaks the silence
Weight finally shifts
Delight and worry bend together when the phone rings
A drained emotion says hello
Back to stillness once again
The bottle open and sand falls down
Little sparkles beautifully dancing down skin
The air grows cold from the moon at night
So tired of bland wind
We see the girl in everyday fashion
But pay her no attention
Give a half-assed smile and head back home to the stillness
A comfort that slowly pulls her down
What else is there to do but wait?
The breaking only hurts for a little while
And sand can be so pretty when it falls
