Poetry
When I was younger I used to write alot of poetry, though I never claimed I was really good at it. I had a pretty hard childhood, which gave me alot to write about, especially my teenage years. (I'm not talking cliche' teenage years either) Once I moved into my in-laws house before they were even my in-laws, my inspiration went dry. I've tried to write so many times and I draw a blank. Granted I could never wrote about pink fluffly bunnies and running through fields singing tra la laa. But I just couldn't feel anything when it came to paper. Tonight I found myself wanting to write. It's been a long time since I have. There's nothing else to do with it but share, so I thought I'd put it on here.
In this stillness I feel it breaking
A thousand earthquakes in a bottle of sand
Eyes stare forward at nothing ahead
Are the lights even on?
A hum from the kitchen breaks the silence
Weight finally shifts
Delight and worry bend together when the phone rings
A drained emotion says hello
Back to stillness once again
The bottle open and sand falls down
Little sparkles beautifully dancing down skin
The air grows cold from the moon at night
So tired of bland wind
We see the girl in everyday fashion
But pay her no attention
Give a half-assed smile and head back home to the stillness
A comfort that slowly pulls her down
What else is there to do but wait?
The breaking only hurts for a little while
And sand can be so pretty when it falls
1 year gone....
There's things that I miss from back in the states. Of course I miss my family and friends, but there are some strange things that I miss as well. I miss Target. Sounds wierd, but I do. There's only the PX on base that sells American stuff. Off base is.....just different(Not to mention expensive) I really miss some food places. Chick-fil-a, Braums, Arby's, Sonic(ALOT), up by my dad's I miss Zip's. French fries and tartar sauce was great. I want to go to a restaurant and not have to point at what I want, hoping it will be good. Go in a public bathroom and know that there is toilets, not female urinals on the floor. Oh yes, urinals. It looks like someone laid a small urinal on the ground. It is ssoo gross. I won't use one. On top of that, they smell real bad and how can you keep your pants from touching the floor that has pee on it? Women don't really have aim. Anyway..... I miss Denny's at 3 in the morning. This is wierd for me to say, but I miss the mall. You go off base to buy clothes, you better be a size 2 or smaller. Every once and a while I actually find something that fits. That, and their fashion is real wierd here. Imagine 80's crossed with hip-hop. Throw in leather high heel boots,(which normally are 2 sizes too big. It makes me think they don't know how to buy ones that fit.) and a louis Vuitton purse, and you've got the style here. I like it here and all, and it's a great experience to live in this part of the world, but I miss America.
Diggin' in the past
I went to my friend Keely's blog, just to check up on the new stuff she's posted. Man was I in for a suprise. She had a picture up from a lloonngg time ago. Made me want to dig up some old ones too. Then I remembered that a certain ex of mine threw them all away. The oldest pictures I have are when Jesse was still married, and I wasn't. The 3 of us went to high school together, and they were my best friends. It's a bit sad that I have nothing to show from that time in my life but scars, and really good "There I was" drug induced stories. I found a couple worth putting up though.
Early start
I went out to the PX on my base today to get a few things, and the Christmas music has already started playing, the toy isle was already getting bare, and the cinnamon candles will choke you from a mile away. I needed ornament hooks anyway, so I bought a few holiday items. I got home and laid my son down to bed, and had a thought. I want to put up my tree. My house now is in full swing for Christmas. When my son woke up from his nap he was in awe. You normally can't pull him away from a flashing commercial on tv, but the tree has been in his eye all day. It made me real happy to see him be wide-eyed like that. Now I am a bit excited for the holidays. Of course, he doesn't know what is going on. It's not even December yet, but I don't care. It made Tristan happy, so I am.
Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving was okay for me this year. I went to someone's house for it, so I wouldn't be alone. It was alright. Tristan threw up on the hostess. I guess he ate too much. I got home at around 7:00pm and Tristan was a turd. I sit down on my couch, and felt how alone I really was. Then the phone rang. My husband was on the line. Made me feel alot better tonight. He's doing good, but he told me the tent his shop sleeps in blew over last night. One of his friends got hit in the head with a pole. 2 or 3 more months....Today is a hard day for me. I am being strong about him gone and all, but I can't be everyday.
Moving news
Last night was a meeting for everyone who has to move out of certain towers. It settled a few of my questions, which was good. It just sucked because I sat at a table for 8 by myself the whole night. The main topics that were nice to hear was, no one is being moved off of this base unless requested. They don't like moving people during the holidays, and from what I gather, won't unless requested. Last but not least, we are eligible for DLA. Dis-location allowance, which equals up to $562.03. It won't be an easy move to do though. I have to go to 3 different buildings to get all the paperwork done.
My son had his 9 month well baby check up today. He wieghs 22lbs. and almost 27in. long. They told me that if he doesn't start crawling by 10 months I have to take him back. What for....I dunno. Oh well.
As with anything else in the military, I now have to wait for them to call me to tell me when I need to go to the housing office to start the process of moving. All I know now is that everyone has to be out of the 2 buildings that are being worked on by Feb 15th. What a time span to wait.....
motherhood.....sheesh
I went out to run errands today, and had to go pay my phone bill. It's always a long line no matter what time you go. So there I was, with my son on my hip as usual, waiting for my turn. There is a guy standing behind me, who Tristan decides to make faces at. Welll, the guy laughs which send Tristan into jerks of exitement. He starts kicking around, then starts grabbing my boobs, all while making sure the guy sees what he's doing. Then comes the fart noises on my arm. Drool going everywhere. Now Tristan has a little crowd in the line that has formed behind me. He gets a little too excited, and lets out a loud fart. I'm humiliated by now. So I give him my keys to distract him and make him quiet. Didn't work. Instead he chokes himself and he spits up sweet potatoes on his white shirt. That line felt like it took forever. I didn't get mad at him or anything, I just didn't know what to do. Once again in the back of my head I hear my dad laughing and saying, "REVENGE!"

ADVICE: When you go to foriegn countries, such as Thialand, make sure to check what's in the background before you start taking pictures. (Sign in the background says, "rodeo girls a go-go")
:::: Yawn ::::
You ever had a day that seemed like it's taking forever to end? That's my day today. I haven't been diagnosed with migranes, but I swear I have them. I had one today, and it seems like this day is never going to end. The sun is bright and shining today and looks like it beautiful out there. It's the middle of the afternoon and I'm still in my pajamas. The weather also says there is a typhoon down in the philippenes that might make it's way up here. Yay.... Right in time for Thanksgiving, maybe even for my move. A day like I'm having, I wish I had a friend here to be in their p.j.'s, munching and t.v.'ing with me all day long. It won't be too much longer till I have that again, so I'm not sad.....just bored. That and my brain hates me today.
Moving
I FINALLY got news about my moving situation. They are having a meeting for the people on Wed. to tell us about the move. I figure I will have to stay behind at the end because I have a power of attorney, instead of a husband here right now. He called again tonight, with nothing in particular to say. Which I don't either. My evening has come to sitting alone, watching Will and Grace, eating cookies......
Here's your sign
I was thinking tonight about some of the stupid things my husband hears at work. For example.....Last time he was at the gun range someone yelled down the line,"Hey, you with the gun." Today, he heard someone say, "We had some unscheduled mortar fire." Gee......when is it scheduled?
News
I got another phone call from Joe this evening. He shared a few things with me tonight I am passing on to here. First, there are some theives in his unit, and they are pissing me off. It started when he was on the boat. Someone stole his underwear out of his laundry. Of all things..... When he was in Kuwait, it happend again. I told him not to steal them back because that would be even more gross. It has happend one more time. He has bought more, so don't think he's running around without underpants on. Now someone has stole his kevlar helmet. To do the paperwork to get a new one would take 6 months, which means we have to buy a new one so he has it now, and they aren't cheap. The casualty toll is up to 10 from his MEU. There is a guy also who is getting a purple heart for (I guess?) being grazed by 3 bullets to the arm during a convoy. He was back out driving in a convoy when he drove over 2 mines. They have, in my husband's own words, "beefed up the armor on their humvee's big time." Everyone was okay in the convoy. Which is good news to me. My husband is getting his combat wings, and 3 medals. Which ones...............I dunno. His whole squadron is getting them. He's in good spirits, but very tired. A constantly changing schedule, and a hard time sleeping is catching up to him. He wants to thank everyone for their thoughts as well. He even had a funny story to tell me. His SSGT, a friend, and him were watching Blackhawk Down together, when a certain part came up. When all falls silent and the cat runs across the road, he said all of them in unison said," I would shoot that damn cat right off the road!"
awwww...................
I was bitching about paperwork earlier today, which put me in a mood. Well, I get my son ready for bed as usual and have the daily struggle to put clothes back on him. I have been trying to teach him sign language. It has been proven, and I've seen it in my husband's nephew, that babies can learn how to sign before they can talk. It comes in handy when they are sort of talking as well. I sit down tonight to give him his final bottle, and while he's drinking he looks at me and does the sign for milk. Everything from today just went away. He learned the sign for milk. I can't describe what kind of feeling that gave me. He kept signing milk, and watched his hand while he did it. Then comes the big gum smile. He forgot to swallow his mouthful of course and I got it on me, but it wasn't that big of a deal. He understood something new today, and just had to smile about it.
@#$%ing Military Paperwork!!
Some say that your world falls apart when your husband deploys. In my case, the paperwork fell apart when he left. I swear it feels like I need a power of attorney to walk down the street. I spent half of my afternoon in the IPAC office today. It all started when I tried to schedule my son for his 9m well baby check up. They tell me something is wrong with my DEERS in enrollment with him. So off I went to take care of it. Seems to find out, my son didn't even exist to DEERS. Well, how the @#$% was he getting treated for 9 months then? I am a bit............irritated if it's not noticable. I have to move out of my building. When, I dont know. Where, haven't a clue, but sometime soon. TMO will be involved which means, paperwork. Anyway, I got my son enrolled in DEERS. Which I think my husband went to IPAC and enrolled him twice already. Now I found out that he doesn't even have a social security number, and I have to get one within 90 days for him to still be in DEERS. The people who work in these offices have the personality of wet turds. Makes me want to choke somebody. Military life is good and all, but the paperwork you have to put up with, the being bounced around from office to office, place to place, and dealing with wet turds just makes me want to scream. It seems like they only come out when your spouse is gone. I know all the papers need to be done and serve a purpose, but is it policy to make it a pain in the ass? Not to mention I have a drooling, impatient, easily bored, little boy with me? By God, I just might have a beer or 3 and tell the world to eat shit tonight.....
Bah...Humbug
You ever get in a rut where you just don't feel like doing much of anything? Well, I've been like that for a few weeks now. I'm not depressed, I'm not hiding out, I'm perfectly fine. I joined a babysitting group to be able to go to the gym in July, and I am just burned out on going. I really don't care as much on how I look anymore. I have FINALLY come to terms that I will NEVER look like I did in high school again. I told my husband that I don't care anymore, and that I think I look......okay. He said it was about damn time, because he thinks I look great.(Aren't husbands wonderful for your ego?) Anyway, I want to quit the group. But 3 women quit a week ago and they are really low on members. They need a CPR certified person to watch everyday. Well, they have the minimum of people who are right now, including me. I leave them in a bad situation, which makes me feel bad. But I want to quit. Tonight I was invited to a little get together that a Zion Christian church is putting on. I didn't show up. Tristan was being a little fussy, and that is my excuse. It would have been a group of people I don't know, with someone I don't know watching my kid on a different floor of the building. Back to the gym thing. One of the women who run the babysitting group, is a.......used to be friend? Well, her and I don't hang out anymore and we.....don't see eye to eye. Ever since I made friends with a girl that didn't give a good first impression, and I quit doing her workout routine with her. She is more than likely going to make me feel bad for trying to quit the group. I hate being mean... I am perfectly comfortable with bieng at home, and doing daily routines without the gym. I'll go out and do more things when my friend gets back, because I'm comfortable with her too. But, Bah...Humbug. I'm trying to grow the balls and tell this woman I don't want to go to the gym anymore. I'd rather be a little chunky than look like a man, and I'd rather be happy than feel spineless.

What boys think is fun to do in foreign countries(yes it is alive).....hey, atleast it's not a hooker.
Good news
I got a phone call from my husband last night. I was real happy about it. It had been over a week since I heard from him. When we do talk on the phone, it's about nothing important. It's as if he's down the street. We laugh and crack jokes, and I tell him new things our son is doing. Some of the wives here say I'm crazy. They get all red eyed and snotty when they talk to their husbands. But I don't see what good that does. You'll see those wives at the pier when we drop off our husbands for deployment, practically dragging behind them. I'm not cold-hearted or anything, but I don't see a point in bawling my head off. I'd rather know that when he gets off the phone with me that he's smiling, not worrying about if I'll be okay. I'd also rather have him see me smiling and waving when he heads toward the boat, than sucking in snot and moping. This last time was a hard one, because of the circumstances. He got his smile and wave, and didn't have to see me in the car ride home. I've been doing really good since he left. We've been apart longer than this before. Deployments are a regular thing with this job. He has more important things to worry about than if I'm crying in my pillow. That's just my opinion........
My wierd brainwaves
This evening I realized how much of a dork I am. Access Hollywood was on, and they did this thing about Star Wars. I had to sit down and watch the whole thing. Which made up the whole subject in my brain. I was at the commisary today, minding my own business, and the same thing always happens. The women stare. Granted, I bring some of it on myself because I do have piercings. But today was different. The only reason why I noticed this particular woman was because it was in the mid 80's and she had a white sweater on. Well, she noticed me, then starts to bop around to the commisary music. She's showing off in front of me! I don't understand women! I am one, and I don't. This chick is dancing in the bread isle making sure I'm looking at her, then pulls her hair back so I can see her earrings. I look over to her husband and he's pushing the cart staring at her like,"What the hell are you doing?" I didn't quite know how to take it. Now I question myself about alot of things everyday, but I always know who I am. I have changed who I am once in my life, and I will NEVER do it again. But that woman made me think about myself. Now I have trouble keeping friends who are girls, but I only have ideas why. Do I intimidate them? I don't want their men, I don't want them, my man doesn't want them,.......that's all I can think women argue about. Is it a maturity thing? Was I a threat to this woman's ego? Was she just trying to impress me so I thought she was "cool?" I might come off to people different than I really am. I've been here on this base for damn near a year, and have 1 friend now. The first 2......a long story. Let's just say they are too conservative for me. I'm 22, not 80. And I'm not going to live like I'm stuck in the 50's housewife mode. Now what most people don't know about me is that I'm a bit shy. So I don't know how to take women like today. Do I say, "Wow, like your earrings." Or do what I did, and walk away laughing. Some women here are nice and make small talk on the elevators in my building, and my friends building. But when your alone in a little space, what else do you do besides stare at your shoes? Don't take this as whining or anything. I just don't get women.
Help!
okay, maybe I'm having a dumb blonde moment, but I need some help. I see other blogs that have blog lists. How do you make one? I'm a bit computer stupid, if it's not obvious by this. Am I just over-looking the right thing to click on? Can anyone shine some light on how to make one for me?

What really goes on in Marine Corps barracks during a typhoon. Yes that is a body hair arrow. (one of my husbands friends)
Veteran's Day
This post is mainly for one person. He taught me respect for the military, love for my country, and pride in being American. He served 21 years in the military, and has been my dad for longer than that. There will never be a bigger hero in my eyes than him. Thank you Dad, for doing all that you have for our country, and for me.
229 Years
In celebration of the Marine Corps birthday I thought I would share a little history.
The USMC was formed by an act of the Continental Congress on Nov. 10, 1775.
The Corps' motto had been "Fortitudine"(with courage), until about 1883 when it became "Semper Fidelis"(always faithful).
"Leatherneck" is a long-standing nickname that goes back to the neck piece, which was part of the uniform from 1775-1875. It was intended to keep their heads erect. Marine legend says it was neck armor against fatal sword wounds.
The Marine emblem which consists of the eagle, globe, and anchor was adopted in 1868.
During the battle of Belleau Wood in 1918, the Germans recived indoctrination in the fighting ability of the U.S. Marines. The Marines fought their way throughwith unbelievable courage that the Germans started calling them "Teufel hunden"(Devil Dogs).
"Chesty" Puller(Jan 26, 1898-Oct 11, 1971) was awarded 5 Navy crossesand is the only Marine ever to have been so honored.
Last, but not least, the most famous image of the Marine Corps.
The morning of Feb. 23, 1945, the fourth day after the assault landing on Iwo Jima, Lieutenant Colonel Chandler W. Johnson ordered 1st Lieutenant Harold G. Schrier to take 40 men and secure Mount Surabachi. He handed him a small American flag. Schrier, Platoon Sgt. Ernest I. Thomas Jr., Sgt. Henry O. Hansen, Cpl. Charles W. Lindberg, and Privates First Class Luis C. Charlo and James Michels rigged the flag to a Japanese pipe and raised the colors. SSgt. Louis R. Lowery, a combat photographer for Leatherneck magazine, recorded the scene. Enemy soldiers emerged from hiding, and threw grenades. The Marines disposed of the opposition, and Lowery, trying to get out of the line of fire, tumbled down a slope and broke his camera. both he and the film survived the fall. The flag flying over Iwo Jima's highest point brought cheers from the beaches below. Ships sounded horns and whistles and many men choked up. Secretary of the Navy James V. Forrestal, present as an observer, saw the flag waving over this island on the path to Tokyo and predicted:"The raising of that flag on Suribachi means there will be a Marine Corps for the next 500 years."Johnson realized the flag was too small to be seen all across the island, so he sent a Lieutenant to obtain a larger flag from one of the landing ships. An officer of LST 779 gave the Marine the flag that flew on Sundays and holidays. When Johnson recived the folded colors, he passed them to PFC Rene A. gagnon, a runner about to head up Suribachi to deliver radio batteries to Schrier. Gagnon climbed with 4 other men of Company E who were laying communications wire to the top. Three photojournalists had heard that a flag was to be raised and they set out to record the event. Half way up they met Lowery coming down, who told them of the first flag raising. When the 3 photographers reached the summit, they found 5 Marines and a Navy corpsmen along the length of pipe, preparing the larger flag. All 3 photographers moved into position just in time to capture the moment. As the pipe rose, the strong wind caught the flag, unfurled it, and snapped it out into full extension. The recordings of the photographers has gone down into history as one of the most famous images of the Marine Corps and of WWll.
229 years and counting. God Bless the Marine Corps.
Living with my father #2
We were out on a lake with one of my dad's friends in his boat. We were tubing mostly that day. My dad also showed us how to hold on to the railing on the back of the boat, wait until the boat was full throttle and let go. It would make you lift up in the water or skid across the top. Gee, doesn't that sound safe... It was fun though. Anyway, it was my dad's turn on the tube. All was going well, then my dad's friend turned to me and said,"Watch this." He jerked that boat around and went in circles. My dad was flung everywhere. Until he lost his grip and all I see is pale white feet, head, pale white feet, head, pale white feet,head.... It was very funny to see. He really didn't get hurt( that I remember). And I tell you I thought of that image of him everytime I got in trouble and had to sit through a 4 hour lecture of God knows what I did wrong. Sometimes I forgot half way through and just wished he'd spank me or something. So Dad, if you ever wondered why I smiled during your talks, now you know.
"Bean"ey Baby
If you could see behind me right now you would laugh. I am kicking myself that I don't have a digital camera. I went to Taco Bell to get dinner tonight(sue me, my husband isn't here and I didn't feel like cooking) and I got my son the pintos and cheese. Oh my God, is it EVERYWHERE! I let him feed himself tonight because he wanted to be a big boy.(meaning he kept hitting the spoon away) Dessert was applesause which is mixed all in. He is beyond up to his elboes. I gave him the spoon and I think he might follow in a certain uncle's footsteps and play the drums. Only he did it on beans and applesauce . So a smeared in concoction is all over his high chair and him. I can't be upset because it's kinda cute. And he's happy, which he hasn't been for the most part today. He got his flu shot this morning and has been a turd since. My father is laughing somewhere saying "sweet revenge." But I better go hose him off before his body art dries.

My husband...always the little guy outta the bunch. Hey, he's taller than me and that's all that matters.
Wandering mind
My mind tends to wander through many subjects during the day and I come across some pretty good points(atleast I think so). People don't see the mental sacrifice that military men give, and how we can affect it. Which brings me to a story.
I used to work at a county jail and made friends with a few police officers. I went on a few "ride alongs" and got to watch them work. One day I went on one and we had to stop by the hospital to do a follow up. Fresh out of work we head to the ER. There I see a man laying in a hospital bed crying and fighting with the nurses to get out of bed. All I hear is,"I gotta get my boys! I gotta save them! Dear God, help me! I gotta get my boys!" The officer I was riding with told me that a concerned neighbor called in and said she saw him yelling with a gun waving in the air. He got to the man's house to find him very drunk and rambling about an ambush and that his boys were calling him and he had to save them. He lived alone, and from what little he talked to the officer coherently, he was a veteran. I went home that night and cried. I thought to myself that it could have been my dad laying there. I felt bad for this man, and I couldn't help. I never forgot him and what I took from seeing him. I never knew his name, what brought him to that point, or what happend after that night. But what he showed me I will remember forever. Which leads me to another story.
Everyday for a long time a man stood on an overpass of a main highway in my home state and would wave a big American flag for a few hours. He started when OIF started, then stopped at the end of May. He was there rain or shine. My friend and I saw him often and would honk as we went under the overpass. But one day it was pouring down and there he was in a poncho with his flag, saluting the traffic. We pulled off the highway and stopped at a gas station and bought a large cup of hot chocolate and headed to the overpass. I get out of the car and give him the hot chocolate and tell him a whole hearted thank you for standing out there everyday, waving his flag. He only said 2 sentences to us and the first one was him saying he was a Desert Storm veteran. My friend and I both told him thank you for serving our country, and for being out there on that overpass. He took the hot chocolate, teared up and said, "You're alright."
Mental sacrifices...... You never know the impact apperciation can give on someone who has sacrificed. I am glad that there are people out there that do say thank you, and more people should. "Cause it can go alot father than you think.

Killing 2 birds here. 1 figuring which format to save scanned pics to #2 Proving once again the best looking uniform is Marine dress blues
Veteran's Day
Today I went to 3 different bases searching for Veteran's Day cards. 2 of them were Marine Corps bases, and 1 was an Air Force base. There is Navy and Army bases here as well. The Navy one is more of a port, and the Army one I don't remember how to get to. But there was no cards. They have a card for anything else you can think of, but not Veteran's Day. America doesn't give enough credit to our veteran's in the first place, but they can't even make a folded peice of paper? Geeze... Am I just wierd that I want to send my dad and my husband's grandpa a card to say thank you for serving? My husband is serving now and is contemplating MECEPS, or just singing another contract with what he's doing now. Will he be thanked for his service in combat 20 years from now? It is just a card, but it's the thought of why I want to send one. So I guess I will make them myself.
last to know
Well, I was informed today of something that I feel bad I didn't know earlier. I have a blog mom, Noteitposts is her name. I'm sorry I didn't know until today, but yay! Thank you for bieng my "mommy!"
News
Well, today I have heard news that makes me sad. I was told that the first casualty from Joe's MEU happend on Sunday. All military casualties are sad, but this one is a little more closer to home. Granted the MEU is big, but Joe is still attached to it. I'm going on day number 3 since I last talked to him, but I'm okay. I'll be glad when he gets home, but I'm proud of him for serving in a time of war. And I'm happy he got go when his time came. But I pray for the family of the Marine who died and all the men over there who are still serving in the middle east. Semper Fidelis
Christmas shopping
I decide today that I would get a bit of my shopping out of the way. All goes well in one store. There wasn't a whole lot of people which was good. Then I decide I will venture into the PX. Tristan is being fussy because I forgot to bring him anything to play with. Not even thinking about it, I give him the lid to my water. He starts getting fussy again and some woman stops me adn says that he has the cap stuck in his mouth. I am shocked because I honestly didn't think it would fit in his mouth. So while I was through the store, to my luck I keep seeing this woman and she sends her evil looks to me every time. I did feel bad though because I just thought he dropped it and was being fussy, woops. So I bought him a toy for now. Like he understands I felt bad, he just got to play with something. I also have a big box that is a little trike that grows with Tristan, which I found for $18. (Go me!). I am trying to push a stroller full of bags, Tristan bieng a toot, and I have to walk all the way to the other side of the building to pick up my pictures. Mind you I have to walk past the bus stop in front of the PX which it's lunch time and a ton of single Marine's are standing around. Do they help me? Nnnooooo..... They see me swerving all over the sidewalk trying to push the stroller and keep hold of this big ass box. I get my pictures and go to leave. Then a woman comes running up behind me. In Tristan's protest of stopping, he kicked a brand new Nike tennis shoe off. I say thank you and try to find an open arm to take the damn shoe. I pack everything in the car and get in the front seat, open the envelope of pictures and that changed my whole mood. You have to admit, the boy is adorable even if he's stubborn. Get home and unpack all the stuff and notice once again the damn shoe is gone. So there I go backtracking from my 5th floor down the elevator in to the middle of the street to find where he decided to kick it off to make me crazy. Maybe it's my fault because I dress him like a little man, not a baby. Joe gives me enough crap about spending $30 on a pair of shoes he'll grow out of in a month, and told me to keep the reciept and just keep returning them for bigger sizes. Anyway, I have learned that this seasonal shopping with a kid sucks, and I bet it gets worse as he gets older.
Welcome
Well, I think I've got the hang of this now. Okay, welcome to my new blog. I will try to add new stuff to it as I go on. Let me get the feel of it for a while and then I will tackle the posting pictures on here too. Anyway, this is my new blog and stuff. Yay...........
Living with my father #1
Man it looks like I'm hooked on this thing or something. All the posts I've done in one evening, but hey, it's brand new so bite me. Anyway, I had a great thought for my blog. Some people have their "There I was" stories , or have questions of the week and must reads, well how about I have "Living with my father." I don't mean living in his home, I mean like a pain in the ass you have to just live with. You know I love you Dad. I have many stories of how he harassed me, embarassed me, picked on me, and showed me things. Above all he made my childhood something to talk about. So let's begin with this one.
I was about 8 years old walking through a Hobby Lobby. We were walking around the fake flowers and wreaths. My dad looks up at the wreaths made of branches and moss then looks at me and says,"Do you know what that is?" Of course I said "No, what?" He responds with, " That was Man's first toilet seat." My initial response was "nuh uhh." But then in my mind I'm looking at it wondering if it really is. To this day I can't walk past a wreath without thinking of a caveman squatting on it. Thanks Dad. You make craft stores......................colorful.
